Cake design is not a one step process…
From the moment you place your cake order to final presentation of the completed confection at your venue — what takes place “behind the scenes” of your cake production is a multi faceted event — and labor of love! Requiring timing, technical, culinary and artistic skill, and most of all, patience!
Each cake will reflect the personality and thoughts of the customer that visualized it… so “mixing the batter” is only the beginning of many hours of bringing these concepts to life!
Initially-fillings, icings and the cake itself are all made by hand — then sized and stacked to ensure stability for structure and transport.
Then the edible handmade sugar decorations which adorn the cake must be sculpted in gumpaste, modeling chocolate, royal icing or pulled sugar, especially formulated for each individual design. Then colored according to customer’s specifications.
I’m asked by customers “How long does it take to make a cake?” and my answer is always the same… “Five minutes!”
